Who am I ?

Last name: BAQUÉ     First name: Arnaud
Age: 52

Location: Bordeaux - France

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away...
or more precisely in 1987, in France, I was a 15-year old boy and I was just about to deliver my first IT project.
It was a software written in BASIC designed to help the stock management of a mechanic workshop.
I was proud and a little bit anxious.
Two months after this delivery, a bug occured and I had to deploy my first bug-fix in emergency.
It was my first (and maybe the most important) lesson about project management: good-will and technical skills are not enough. An IT project requires method and reactivity.

A few decades after these events, all has changed.
BASIC has become FORTRAN, then C, then C++, JAVA, Python, PHP or Javascript,
IT Technical documentation has become free and easy to access,
From isolated computers, the IT network has become a World Wide Web,
Software hosted by mainframe platforms have migrated to personal computers before vanishing in the cloud,
Customers' requirements changed from simple task executions to full service delivery and support.

And I have changed too. Of course.
I have learned to work within a team, to share experience and to design together. It was exciting to meet all these people who share the same passion but with various approaches and different perspecitives.
After working for a very large IT lab that had tought me rigourness, methodologies and procedures, I joined a small-sized company that gave me the opportunity to discover all the aspects of the software industry.
In parallel with my developper activity, I was in charge of field engineer tasks, project management and presales missions.
Nevertheless I always kept in touch with development and I was persevering to improve my technical skills.
I finally found my favorite job : developpement, architecture and developper team management.
